Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeier Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit
The Breast Cancer Society of Canada continues to change and save lives of breast cancer patients through it’s support of the Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeier Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit at the London Regional Cancer Program.  Our current commitment provides ongoing support for research investigating the root cause and spread of breast cancer.  Our gift is specifically designated to a Senior Translational Scientist – Dr. Eva Turley, 3 Graduate Students, 2 Post Doctoral Students, as well as seed money for new and innovative research projects through a small grants program. Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance (CBCRA)
We fund breast cancer research through a unique partnership with the primary funder of top quality breast cancer research in Canada. Projects in the area of Early Detection, Prevention, Treatment, Fundamental Laboratory Investigation, Quality of Life and Health Services.

Canadian Breast Cancer Network
The Breast Cancer Society of Canada supports the project entitled “The Economic Impact of a Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment on Labour Force Re-entry.  The objectives of the project are:

               ·          Contribute to the knowledge base about return-to-work issues

               ·          Improve labour force reintegration of women after a diagnosis and 
                       treatment for breast cancer


QEII Foundation - Halifax- The purpose of this donation is to provide funding for breast cancer research projects; specifically, small grants funding.

Tom Baker Cancer Centre- Alberta Breast Cancer Program - The purpose of this donation is to provide funding for breast cancer research projects; specifically, small grants funding.

Sunnybrook Foundation - The purpose of this gift is to support the Emond Odette Cancer Centre. It will be designated toward funding clinical trials within the Breast Cancer Program.

In 2008-09 we gave a total of $1.2 million dollars with $1.4 million dollars planned for 09/10!
