Funding Streams

Seed Funding

• The Breast Cancer Society of Canada makes significant contributions to innovative research projects needing the upfront capital necessary to gather preliminary findings. These findings are then used to apply for federal research grants.
• This gives the latest ideas for a cure a chance to be fully examined, supporting a consistent push by Canadian researchers to eradicate breast cancer.
• The Breast Cancer Society of Canada has donated over $2.89 million to London Health Science Foundation’s Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit. The $430,000 they dedicated from this donation to seed funding has enabled the preliminary findings to secure over $4.5 million in external grants.
